MMZ issues June production results

Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has released its production results for the month of June.

Accordingly, during the given period the mill produced 82,348 mt of crude steel and 75,124 mt of rolled steel products, exceeding its production targets for the month in question by 0.1 percent and 2.3 percent respectively.

The mill's June sales amounted to 74,802 mt of rolled steel products, of which 15,740 mt consisted of high grade steel products. Sales to CIS countries amounted to 42,161 mt, reaching 32,641 mt for non-CIS countries.

During the first half of 2008, approximately 522,172 mt of scrap was delivered to MMZ, of which 87,407 mt was delivered during the month of June. On July 1, MMZ's reserves of metal charge amounted to 60,720 mt, which makes the company self-sufficient in raw materials and other additional materials for the month of July.
