MMZ issues Jan-Feb 2009 output data

Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has announced its January-February 2009 production results.

During the period in question, MMZ produced 73,264 mt of crude steel and 77,147 mt of rolled steel products. MMZ's January-February 2009 deliveries amounted to 74,458 mt, including 52,993 to non-CIS countries, and 21,465 mt to CIS countries.

In February 2009, MMZ successfully achieved its monthly production targets, manufacturing 44,805 mt of crude steel - up 57.4 percent compared to January 2009, and 38,094 mt of rolled steel products, including 25,266 mt of rebar and 12,898 mt of wire rod, - down 2.5 percent month on month.

MMZ's February deliveries amounted to 34,998 mt, registering a decrease of 11.3 percent compared with January 2009.
