MMK ups steel output in January

Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) disclosed that the company's steel output rose 10.9 percent year on year to 984,000 metric tons in January 2006. The company's rolled metal output also rose 12.3 percent year on year to 903,000 metric tons during the same period. Coke production amounted to 486,000 metric tons in January 2006, up 12.5 percent from a year earlier.
