The Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that it will deliver a trial batch of galvanized and polymer coated rolled steel products to LG Electronics Rus, the Russian representative of the South Korean electronics manufacturer LG.
In 2004, MMK commissioned its first color coating line, supplied by the Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI, while in summer 2009 it started up its second color coated line, supplied by the Italian company FATA Hunter. The new line includes hot and cold laminators and an embosser, while the design of the line's oven allows the production of steel for white goods (refrigerators, washing machines, etc). The two lines allow MMK to produce up to 400,000 mt of color coated steel per year.
