MMK sees decreased crude steel output in Q2

In the second quarter of the current year, the crude steel production of Russian steelmaker MMK Group totaled 3.294 million mt, down four percent compared to the first quarter of this year, while crude steel output in H1 2012 amounted to 6.711 million mt, up 14 percent year on year.

During the given quarter, MMK's pig iron production increased by three percent to 2.557 million mt, its long product output increased by 12 percent to 451,000 mt and its flat hot rolled product output increased by three percent to 1.416 million mt - all on quarter-on-quarter basis.

According to the MMK statement, in the third quarter this year MMK expects its sales of finished steel products to remain at approximately the same level as in the second quarter.
