MMK reports results for January-June 2006

In the first half year of 2006, Russian Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) produced 672,600 tons of iron ore, down 6.7 percent, 5.45 million tons of agglomerate, up 4.7 percent, 2.78 million tons of coke, up 2.1 percent, 4.92 million tons of pig iron, up 6.8 percent, 5.92 million tons of crude steel, up 8 percent, 5.48 million tons of finished steel products, up 9.5 percent from the first half year of 2005. During January-June of 2006, MMK's share in overall Russian steel production was equal to 19 percent, while the share in overall Russian production of crude steel was equal to 17 percent. In June 2006, MMK produced 111,600 tons of iron ore, 885,400 tons of agglomerate, 452,200 tons of coke, 810,800 tons of pig iron, 1.02 million tons of crude steel, and 937,000 tons of finished steel products. MMK's export deliveries in June accounted for 43.3 percent of its production.
