Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has stated that a number of its production facilities and plants achieved strong output results in 2014.

The blast furnace plant achieved record production of pig iron at its eight blast furnaces, with a total of 10.28 million mt in 2014. The steelmaking plant recorded its best results since 2007 and its second-best performance since 1991, with an output of 13.03 million mt in 2014. The oxygen converter plant achieved its highest output since 2007 with over 10 million mt of steel.

MMK's coke-chemical plant produced approximately 5.6 million mt of coke in 2014, the highest production volume recorded since 2004 and the second-best result in the mill's history.

Finally, the long product rolling plant recorded its highest production in recent history in 2014. For the first time since the commissioning of the new rolling mills supplied by Italy's Danieli in 2005, the plant produced over 1.84 million mt of hot rolled products. All three state-of-art rolling mills are currently operating and supply high-quality long products to both MMK-Metiz and the construction sector.
