The Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has released its production results for the first four months of 2008.
Accordingly, during the given period the mill recorded a 10.8 percent increase in its crude steel production to 4.753 million metric tons and an 11 percent rise in its finished steel production to 4.6 million metric tons.
In addition, MMK saw a 10.1 percent increase in pig iron production, a 10.4 percent rise in coke production but a 12.1 percent decrease in iron ore production year on year to 3.434 million metric tons, 1.914 million metric tons and 492,400 metric tons respectively in the first four months of 2008.
