The Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has reached an operational level equal to about 90 percent of its capacities, MMK chairman Victor Rashnikov has said in an interview with the Russia Today TV channel.

"Just two companies, we and Lipetsk [NLMK] operated at a profit [in 2009]. In the first quarter this year we have operated many times better than last year. The second quarter will be even a bit better than the first. We are aiming to operate at the level of 11 million mt of rolled steel in 2010 - almost the level of 2007," Mr. Rashnikov said.
