Mittal plans to build first steel plant in India

Mittal Steel, the world's largest steel producer, considers building its first steel plant in India, sources report. Mittal Steel executives visited the Jharkhand state in order to discuss its project with the state government. The state has the fifth largest iron ore reserves in India. Mittal Steel will conduct a feasibility study at the state with the assistance of the state government. Although Indian sources confirm the project, Mittal Steel officials declined to comment on the project.
