Mexican manganese and ferroalloys producer Minera Autlan said on Wednesday it has reached an agreement with Spanish-based BAS Projects Corporation SL to develop and build a 50 MW wind power plant in the state of Coahuila.

Minera Autlan said a joint venture, called Proyecto Eolicos, will run the wind power plant.

Dominion, a BAS-affiliated company, will be responsible for the project and the commercial operation of the wind power plant.

Minera Autlan said it expects to start building the wind power plant by Q2 2018.

The Mexican ferroalloys producer said the new wind power plant is part of the company’s investment and growth strategy for its energy division.
