Mexico’s industrial production increases in December

Mexico’s industrial production in December decreased 0.27 percent, month-on-month, but increased 3 percent year-on-year, according to media reports citing data from the Faculty of Economy at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL).

According to media reports, the economic indicators that presented the highest decreases on a month-by-month basis were the mining industry (0.82 percent) and manufacturing industries (1.64 percent).

Civil construction registered a 1 percent increase, month-on-month, and a 6.8 rise year-on-year.

From December 2013 to December 2014, mining production fell 6.2 percent.
