Mexico's GDP grows 3.6 percent in Q2

The Mexican economy grew 3.6 percent in the second quarter of the year, compared to the same period last year, the ninth consecutive increase, according to preliminary and seasonally adjusted data from the national statistics agency Inegi.

The industrial sector grew 2.5 percent and the service sector advanced 4.1 percent. Until the first quarter of 2023, the industrial sector contributed 28.5 percent of total GDP and services contributed 63.7 percent.

Data from the World Bank ranks Mexico as the fifteenth largest economy in the world, according to the most recent data for 2021.
