Mexico car output, exports increase in July 2014

Mexico’s auto production and exports increased year-on-year by 8.5 and 20.2 percent, respectively, in July 2014, the country’s car industry association Amia said.

Mexico produced 259,634 cars in July 2014 and exported 231,934 in the same period.

From January to July 2014, Mexico’s car output reached 1.8 million units, 7.5 percent up over a year prior.

Exports in the period also increased to 1.3 million units, 11.2 percent up year on year.

According to Amia, the main top destinations for Mexican cars are the US, Canada, Brazil, Germany and China.
