Mexican auto production, sales up in June

Mexican domestic sales of cars in June reached 106,890 units, up 27.1 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the nation's industry association, AMIA.

Auto production in June totaled 306,694 units, 6.7 percent up year-on-year, while exports rose 5.3 percent in the same basis of comparison, reaching 242,720 units in June.

AMIA said Mexican auto production in the first half of the year totaled 1.7 million units, while domestic sales and exports reached 609,825 and 1.4 million units, respectively. The number of cars produced in the first six months of the year rose 8.1 percent year-on-year, while exports rose 10.4 percent in the same period.
