Mexican mining and metals production index rises in March

The Mexican mining and metals production index rose 0.9 percent in March, year-on-year, according to data released Friday by the nation’s Institute of Statistics and Geography, INEGI.

According to INEGI, seasonally adjusted data for the month of March show the mining and metals production index declined 2.9 percent, month-on-month.

Iron pellet production in March reached 667,955 mt, 1.2 percent up year-on-year. The cumulative output for the January-March period indicates a 3.1 percent increase year-on-year.
