Mexican auto production and exports rise in July

According to AMIA, Mexico’s automotive industry association, Mexican auto production and exports increased in July while auto sales declined.

Mexican auto production rose 0.7 percent year-on-year in July, totaling 286,417 units. For the accumulated period of January to July, production increased 10.8 percent year-on-year to 2.1 million units.

Mexican auto exports increased 7.8 percent year-on-year to 243,056 units. For the accumulated period of January to July, production increased 13.1 percent year-on-year to 1.7 million units.

Domestic auto sales fell 7.3 percent year-on-year in July to 122,110 units. For the January to July period, accumulated sales increased 1.4 percent year-on-year to 865,161 units.
