Finland-based global engineering and technology company Metso Corporation will supply a lime calcining system to Russian steel producer Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) for its main production site in Lipetsk. The value of the order has not been disclosed.

Accordingly, equipment delivery will be completed during the fourth quarter of 2011 and the refractory materials will be delivered during the first quarter of 2012.

The delivery consists of a pre-heater rotary kiln lime plant, including process and equipment design, a plant control system and project management. The delivery also includes erection and commissioning supervision services.

This is the first Metso rotary kiln with pre-heater to be installed at NLMK and it is expected to produce 800 mt of lime per day, increasing lime production by 250,000 mt per year.
