Finland-based global engineering and technology company Metso Corporation has announced that its subsidiary Metso Minerals (Metso) has received an order from mining and natural resource group Anglo American-MMX for the supply of crushing, screening and feeding equipment to its Minas Rio Project located in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Accordingly, Metso is to supply to Anglo American-MMX two jaw crushers, four cone crushers, screens and feeders. In addition, Metso will be responsible for the start-up and commissioning services.

The delivery is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2009 and the value of the order is estimated at approximately €7 million.

The order in question is a continuation of a larger minerals processing equipment order from Metso last year for the Minas-Rio iron ore project which comprises a mine and beneficiation plant producing pellet feed. The project is expected to commence production operations during the first half of 2010 with a potential production capacity of 26.5 million mt of iron ore per year.
