Finland-based global engineering and technology company Metso Corporation has announced that its subsidiary Metso Minerals (Metso) has received an order from South Africa-based iron ore producer Assmang Limited for the supply of crushing equipment to its Khumani iron ore mine located in the Northern Cape.

The order in question includes four large cone crushers for the expansion of the Khumani mine. These crushers will act in secondary and tertiary applications to complement the crushing equipment from Metso that was ordered and commissioned during the first phase of the development project.

The order is in line with Assmang Limited's development project for increasing iron ore production at Khumani.

The delivery is scheduled to be completed during the second quarter of 2010 and the value of the order is estimated at approximately €10 million.
