According to the data issued by the Ukrainian iron ore and steel producer Metinvest Holding (Metinvest), in October this year its subsidiary Khartsyzsk Pipe Works (KhPW) saw its large diameter (LD) pipe output decrease to 28,800 mt from 38,500 mt in September, registering a 25 percent drop month on month.

According to Metinvest's statement, the reduced average weight of the LD pipes manufactured in October by KhPW resulted in the reduction in overall tonnage: in September this year the pipes produced were of 1,067 mm and 1,220 mm in diameter, with a total of 10,136 pipes produced, whereas in October the pipes produced were of 530, 630, 720, 820, 1,020 and 1,220 mm in diameter, with 10,119 pipes produced.

In the first ten months of this year, KhPW produced 211,480 mt of LD pipes - down 56.2 percent compared to the same period last year when the plant produced 483,230 mt of LD pipes.
