Metinvest’s iron ore subsidiaries announce Jan-Apr output results

The iron ore subsidiaries of the Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) have issued their production results for the first four months of 2010.
Accordingly, in January-April this year, Metinvest's iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) increased its concentrate output by 43.2 percent to about 1.937 million mt, and saw a 0.4 percent rise in its pellets production to 687,800 mt, both compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, in April this year, CGOK produced 513,000 mt of concentrate - down 1.7 percent, and 152,000 mt of pellets - up 4.5 percent, both compared to March.
During the first four months of the current year, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced about 4.825 million mt of concentrate - up 19 percent year on year, and 3.487 million mt of pellets - up 39 percent year on year. In April this year, SevGOK saw a 1.9 percent drop in its concentrate production but 5.4 percent growth in its pellets output, both compared to March, totaling 1.248 million mt and 919,500 mt respectively.
Meanwhile, in January-April this year, Metinvest's Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) registered a 64.8 percent increase year on year in its concentrate production to 4.987million mt. In April, InGOK produced about 1.323 million mt of concentrate - up 5.7 percent month on month.
