Metalloinvest’s iron ore shipments up 5.7 percent in Q1 from Q4

Metalloinvest, a leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer based in Russia, has announced its operational results for the first quarter of the current year.

Accordingly, in the given quarter Metalloinvest's iron ore production decreased by 0.5 percent quarter on quarter to 10 million mt. Its iron ore shipments increased by 5.7 percent quarter on quarter in the same period to 2.83 million mt.

Metalloinvest's pellet production and shipment volumes in the first quarter amounted to 5.97 million mt and 3.1 million mt, down 2.7 percent and declining by 21.9 percent respectively, both quarter on quarter.

In the first quarter, Metalloinvest's crude steel production was down 4.3 percent to 1.09 million mt, while its pig iron output increased by 20.7 percent to 752,000 mt, both quarter on quarter.
