Metalloinvest’s iron ore output up one percent in 2014

Metalloinvest, a leading global iron ore and HBI (hot briquetted iron) producer based in Russia, has announced its operational results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2014.

In 2014, Metalloinvest's iron ore output increased by one percent year on year to 38.747 million mt, while iron ore shipments decreased by 0.8 percent year on year to 11.021 million mt. In the fourth quarter last year, the company's iron ore production declined by 0.5 percent quarter on quarter to 9.686 million mt.

Metalloinvest's pellet production amounted to 22.65 million mt in 2014, up 0.4 percent year on year, while its pellet shipments in the given year increased by 1.1 percent year on year to 13.891 million mt. Pellet production in the fourth quarter amounted to 5.655 million mt, up 2.6 percent from the third quarter.

In 2014, Metalloinvest's crude steel production decreased by 3.7 percent year on year to 4.505 million mt.
