Metalloinvest commissions largest pellet plant in Russia

Russian metallurgical company Metalloinvest Holding has announced the commissioning of the pellet plant at its Mikhailovsky GOK subsidiary. The new pellet plant - the largest in Russia - will increase the company’s annual pellet output capacity by 5 million mt to 27.6 million mt and it will create 600 additional work places in the region. All stages of pellet production, transportation and dispatching will be performed at the plant.
 
“The new pellet plant at Mikhailovsky GOK is a unique project in Russian steelmaking. It is a showcase of the latest technological inventions which have created for us a cost-efficient plant to produce high-quality pellets with minimal impact on the environment. The launch of the new pellet plant will help to improve the financial stability of Mikhailovsky GOK and the company as a whole,” stated Ivan Streshinsky, chairman of Metalloinvest.
