Megasteel operates at full capacity for the first time

Selangor, Malaysia-based steel producer Megasteel Sdn Bhd is reportedly operating at full capacity for the first time. Megasteel, a subsidiary of Lion Corp Bhd, increased its capacity utilization from 70% to 80% at the beginning of fourth quarter, i.e in April, and to 100% in June. The company officials stated that full capacity, coupled with strong domestic and external demand, as well as with higher steel prices will enable the company to report a remarkable increase in its profit. The annual hot rolled production of the company is 2 million tons. However, the company plans to increase its capacity to 2.5 million tons.
