Marco Pucci renounces new role as director general of Ilva

Marco Pucci has renounced his new role as director general of Taranto-based Italian steel producer Ilva. As reported by SteelOrbis yesterday, January 20, the government-appointed special commissioners for Ilva had announced the appointment of Mr. Pucci as director general of the company, replacing Massimo Rosini. 

Explaining his decision, Mr. Pucci stated that the preferred to await the outcome of his appeal of the court decision in relation to an accident which occurred nine years ago at the ThyssenKrupp steel plant in Turin, in which seven workers died. Pucci was in charge in sales and marketing at the plant at the time. The court of appeal is scheduled to announce its decision on May 13, 2016.
