Manganese ore import price dropped in China

Along with China central government's macro control policy, manganese ore import price in China has dropped somewhat, and the current CIF price of manganese ore from South Africa at Tianjin Port has dropped to 4.6-4.7 US$ per unit, and that from Philippines at Guangzhou has been 4.6 US$ per unit. In China domestic market, the market quotation of manganese ore with 8% Fe and 28-31% grade has been 500-510 Yuan/ton in Guangxi, while that in Shanxi has been around 650 Yuan/ton for grade of 28%. At the moment, price of manganese ore for import and China domestic market has been quite low. Japan has signed contract price with S. Africa Kumba with the price of 4.1 US$ per unit for fines and 4.6 US$ per unit for lump, while China manganese ore import price has been close to the price level also. It is expected that China manganese ore import price would not drop continuously; while for domestic market, the strict macro control policy will effectively curb productivity, thus price decrease space will be limited also.
