In February this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 53,000 metric tons, decreasing by 45.02 percent from 96,393 metric tons in January and down 61.35 percent compared to the same month of 2013, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.

In February, Vietnam was the only destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland. No manganese ore shipments were made from Port Hedland to the country in January or in the same month of 2013.

Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
