Maanshan Steel initiates another major capacity expansion

On March 16, Chinese steelmaker Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd commenced the preparatory work on its new project aimed at adding 3 million mt to its annual production capacity, at expanding its yard and enhancing its railway transportation capacity.

The project in question is a significant part of Maanshan Steel's structural adjustment plans for the latter stage of China's eleventh five-year development plan.
