London Mining completes first shipment from Marampa

UK-based London Mining has announced that it completed loading the first shipment of 49,656 wet mt of iron ore concentrate mined from its Marampa operations in Sierra Leone, on Wednesday, February 1.
 
The ship has left Freetown and is bound for Europe. London Mining ordered a second ship for February with the final destination expected to be China, as well as a third one. London Mining stated that a transshipment vessel will be delivered to Freetown at the beginning of March 2012 that will enable the loading of Panamax and Capesize vessels by the end of the first quarter of 2012.
 
London Mining also announced that it has started coke production in Colombia and plans to reach the targeted production rate of 200,000 mt per year by the end of the third quarter of 2012.
