LNM Group offers for Polish Huta Czestochowa

The Dutch group LNM has released an announcement today that it has submitted an offer for the privatisation of largest Polish steel plate producer Huta Czestochowa. The Polish mill Huta Czestochowa has a capacity of 700'00 mts and according to the announcement effected shipment of 420'000 mts in the year 2002. The offer was made through LNM Holdings NV. LNM Group refers to this offer as another reflection of its intention to strengthen its presence in the Central and Eastern Europe. The group already owns Ispat Sidex in Romania and Ispat Nova Hut in the Czech Republic. The company is also a bidder in the privatisation process of the Polski Huty Stali (PHS).
