LNM and trade union meet for final negotiation

According to recent market reports, LNM and trade unions were scheduled to meet on October 9, 2003 for final negotiations of labour agreement covering workers and employees of PHS. The Polish Treasury Ministry have extended the deadline twice since August. Ministry officials stated that there is no further negotiating time will be given to LNM. Another way is said to be to sign the final agreement without an agreed social package. It is reported that LNM's new offer includes a job security guarantee of 54 months for certain group of employees. Also, PHS will reduce the number of employees from 16'000 to 10'500 by December 2006. Accordingly, eight years job safety guarantees are required by unions. Also, around €330 per employee of bonus will be paid to workers.
