LME ups number of approved brands for billet futures

London Metal Exchange (LME) has announced the approval of Ekinciler Sariseki, the steel brand of Turkish steelmaker Ekinciler Demir ve Celik Sanayi AS for its steel billet futures contracts which are due for launch on April 28, 2008.

As a result of this further addition, the number of brands approved by LME has now increased to twelve, following the previous approval of Russia's Open Joint Stock Company Amurmetal (OJC Amurmetal), Frolovsky Electrostalplavilny Zavod (Volga-Fest) and Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (ZMZ); Ukraine's Mini Steel Mill ISTIL; Greek producer Hellenic Halyvourgia S.A's two brands; Belarusian steelmaker Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ); Turkish steel producers Colakoglu Metalurji A.S., Diler Demir Celik Endustrisi ve Ticaret A.S. and Yazici Demir Celik Sanayi ve Turizm Ticaret A.S., and Malaysian steelmaker Ann Joo Steel Berhad (AJSB).
