Following the overall sluggishness observed in the international steel market in May this year, Shandong Province-based Chinese steelmaker Laiwu Steel Group saw continuous decreases in its section steel exports in the May-July period. In July, the company's section exports declined to zero.

Faced with the overall difficult market situation, Laiwu Steel Group concentrated its export focus on the markets of South Korea, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Thus, strengthening its competitiveness in the global market, in the last two months the steel producer has received export orders for more than 8,000 mt of section steel.
