Krakatau Steel to supply HRC for Pertamina’s oil pipelines in Rokan Block

Indonesia-based steelmaker PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk (PT KS) has announced that it signed a contract with PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), the subsidiary of state-owned energy giant Pertamina, on June 16, in order to provide 53,600 mt of hot rolled coil for Pertamina’s 370 km-long Rokan Block oil pipeline project in Riau.

Pertamina aims to complete the pipeline project which has a nationally strategic importance in order to maintain oil production in the Rockan Block, in the second half of 2021. Indonesia aims to nationalize the Rokan Block which is currently operated by Chevron in 2021 via Pertamina.
