Klöckner & Co. increases sales revenues in 2012 due to Macsteel acquisition

Thursday, 07 March 2013 10:42:39 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul
Duisburg, Germany-based steel and metal distribution company, Klöckner & Co., has reported a net loss of €198 million for 2012, including €77 million in restructuring expenditure and €55 million in impairments. The company had registered a net profit of €10 million in 2011.

In 2012, Klöckner's sales revenue amounted to €7.4 billion, increasing by 4.1 percent year on year largely driven by the acquisition of Macsteel Service Centers USA and the strong organic growth in the US.

For 2013, Klöckner expects that its turnover and sales will remain at around 2012 levels due to additional growth in the US, despite the restructuring-related decline in its European turnover volume.
