Kazakhstan’s Industry and Infrastructure Development Ministry has announced that it intends to extend the ban on scrap exports from the country for another six months, entering into force on November 7.

The aim of the extension of the measure is to prevent scrap shortages for local producers and to combat the illegal circulation of scrap.

The ban on scrap exports was initially imposed on May 6, 2022, for a six-month period and has been extended for another six months as of May 6, 2023, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
