Kazakhstan increases crude steel output in 2011

According to the State Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, in 2011 Kazakhstan produced 4.808 million mt of crude steel, up 12 percent year on year.

Production of flat steel in Kazakhstan in 2011 increased by 6.6 percent compared to 2010, rising to 3.092 million mt, while output of galvanized rolled steel went up by 2.5 percent year on year to 598,281 mt.

In 2011, Kazakhstan saw its ferroalloy production fall by 1.9 percent year on year to 1.669 million mt.
