Kazakhstan’s Industry and Infrastructure Development Ministry has extended the ban on scrap exports from the country for another six months, entering into force on May 6.

The aim of the extension of the measure is to secure the expected capacity utilization rates of local producers with the elimination of the deficit of raw materials.

The ban on scrap exports was initially imposed on May 6, 2022 for a six-month period, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
