JSW Steel’s crude steel output soars 69 percent in February

On March 4, Indian steelmaker JSW Steel Ltd. (JSW Steel) announced that its crude steel output in February this year rose 69 percent year on year, reaching 502,000 metric tons.

The steelmaker's flat steel output in the month in question amounted to 299,000 metric tons, up 17 percent, while its long steel production totaled 96,000 metric tons, climbing by 227 percent, both compared to February 2009.

Meanwhile, up to the end of February in the current Indian fiscal year which started on April 1, 2009, JSW Steel's achieved 5.42 million metric tons of crude steel production, with a 61 percent increase over the corresponding period of the previous year.
