Shandong Province-based state-owned Chinese steelmaker Jigang Group has stated that it is targeting a production cost of RMB 2,800/mt for crude steel in the month of July.

In addition, Jigang Group stated that in the third quarter this year it is targeting cost savings in five areas: in the area of metallurgical coke, in iron-making, in steel rolling, in logistics and in management efficiency. The steelmaker went on to say that, while it cannot control the market, it can control its costs, and that it must achieve what private enterprises are able to accomplish.
