Japanese steelmaker JFE Steel Corp. is planning to install a new continuous annealing line at its steel sheet production unit for high-grade steel at the Fukuyama, Hiroshima division of its West Japan Works in the second half of fiscal year 2010.

The existing continuous annealing line of the plant will be closed, when the new line of 40,000 mt monthly capacity has been completely commissioned. The new facility will increase the annealing capacity of the plant by about 18,000 mt per month.

JFE Steel will spend about YEN 17 billion ($191 million) on the new production line.
