According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 73,078 metric tons in February this year, rising by 57.7 percent month on month and down 7.5 percent compared to February 2011.
Meanwhile, in the January-February period of 2012, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 119,405 metric tons, falling by 13.9 percent year on year.
In the first two months of the year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to China totaled 30,784 metric tons, while exports to South Korea amounted to 29,772 metric tons, increasing by 5.7 percent and down 6.3 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
