Japan’s vehicle sales up in April

Japan's Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) disclosed that the country's domestic sales of new cars, trucks and buses, excluding mini-vehicles, rose 10.8% year on year to 262'983 units in April. Passenger car sales rose 12.3% to 225'635 units in April while truck sales increased 3.1% to 35'974 units. Bus sales, however, fell 8.6% to 1'374 units. JADA indicates that overall new vehicle sales fell 2.2% to 3.94 million units in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2005.
