Japan's steel exports fell 10.7 percent year on year to 2.27 million metric tons in January 2006.

China decreased 32.3 percent to 324,654 metric tons.
Furthermore,
Japan's steel exports to
Thailand fell 14 percent to 292,155 metric tons, while those to
Taiwan decreased 14.3 percent to 229,289 metric tons.
On the other hand,
Japan's steel exports to the US jumped 47.6 percent to 130,292 metric tons.
