In September this year, Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet shipments decreased by 1.8 percent compared to the previous month and were down by 1.7 percent compared to the same month last year, amounting to 808,000 metric tons. 74.3 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 25.7 percent were made to the export markets, according to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) data.
In September of the current year, Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet production amounted to 838,000 mt, down 6.4 percent month on month and rising 0.5 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in September, Japan's hot rolled strip shipments amounted to 1.49 million mt, down 3.7 percent from the previous month and falling by three percent year on year. 21.4 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 78.6 percent were made to the export markets. In the given month, Japan's hot rolled strip production amounted to 1.38 million mt, decreasing by 18.1 percent month on month and up by 2.1 percent year on year.
