Japan’s ferroalloy imports up 21.4% in August from July

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's ferroalloy imports totaled 182,204 metric tons in August this year, increasing by 21.4 percent month on month and down 1.98 percent compared to August 2012.

Meanwhile, in the first eight months of 2012 Japan's ferroalloy imports amounted to 1.12 million metric tons, decreasing by 3.3 percent year on year.

In August this year, Japan's ferroalloy imports from South Africa were down  by 13 percent compared to the same month last year to 41,158 metric tons, while China exported 24,666 mt of ferroalloys to Japan, down 19.7 percent year on year.
