Japan’s cold rolled steel exports down 13.1% in Aug

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel coil and sheet exports totaled 266,167 metric tons in August this year, up slightly month on month and down 13.1 percent compared to August 2012.

In the first eight months of the current year, Japan's cold rolled steel exports showed little change compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 2.2 million mt.

In the first eight months, China's cold rolled steel imports from Japan totaled 663,881 metric tons, down 8.6  percent compared to January-August 2012, while exports to Thailand amounted to 337,413 metric tons, rising 21.7 percent compared to the same period of 2011.
