Japan’s auto output falls 7.6 percent in August

Japanese automobile production in August this year totaled 680,987 units, decreasing by 55,932 units or 7.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Japan's auto output indicated a year-on-year decline for the 12th consecutive month in August, according to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).
 
Domestic automobile sales in August this year in Japan stood at 366,754 vehicles, down 1.1 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in August amounted to 351,217 units, up by 7,168 units or 2.1 percent compared to August 2012, after 13 months in a row of downward movement on year-on-year basis.
